We shared some Chinese tea at a recent tai chi workshop. In Cantonese, “Yum Cha” literally means “drink tea” – it’s what you might say when inviting someone for tea, and also refers to a particular form of Chinese brunch typified by delicious dim sum dishes. For us on this day, “yum cha” was an opportunity to savour some different types of highly regarded Chinese tea “Po Lei” and “Tit Gun Yum”. I enjoyed sharing how tea is sold and appreciated in Chinese culture. Not too hard to convince Brits on the value of a cuppa !
